You all must be knowing about Ayushman’s movie Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan, which is centered on the topic of homosexuality, which is a sexual orientation. Which openly talk about the homo-love and homophobia. Let’s see Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan: Review.

Concept

In this movie, the makers tried to break some of the most important conditions related to love, conditions which our society often denies. A very big lie has been veiled that allows boys to fall in love with girls only. Those who dare to go against it are tested in the eyes of great hatred and called untouchable names.

The topic of the film is homophobia. That is, when an individual creates love between another individual of the same sex, then society is afraid to adopt their love. Its a message in the movie that homosexual people need not be ashamed of themselves and must openly admit this fact that they are just like normal people. The only difference is that they have a soft corner in their heart for the people os the same sex.

Plot

A homosexual person is romantically or sexually attracted to people of their own gender. Men who are romantically or sexually attracted to other men are called gay. Kartik and Aman were neighbors and they slowly fall in love they think that their relationship will be understood at least by their parents as they think that they are educated. But a person’s qualification fails when it comes to accepting any taboo. These two men are totally in love with each other but as it is said that as love is a path of fire in which the lovers need to walk barefoot. They need to fight society to stay together because their relationship is strongly opposed by their parents. These norms are set by the society that does not consider homosexuality as normal.

Cast

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

Ayushman Khurana, a brilliant actor, whose movies are always centered on some sensitive topic that persists in society but is often ignored to be talked about. These topics are often ignored as these are considered taboos by society. Many sensitive issues like erectile dysfunction, discrimination based on caste, and now homosexuality. You must have also noticed one thing, even though his movies are based on sensitive issues he always presents it to the audience in a very comic way. This movie is about a gay couple whose roles are played and slain by Ayushman Khurana and Jitendra Kumar.

Ayushman Khurana is playing the role of Kartik Singh and Jitendra Kumar as Aman Tripathi. So is the case with Kartik and Aman as whose parent’s roles are played by Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao. Manvi Gagroo, Sunita Rajwar, and Manu Rishi aced their side roles.

Hammer punches

The mindset of homophobians are literally reflected in the movie itself. An elder asks Ayushman when he decided to be gay, he cross-questions him when he decided to not to be gay. You all may find it a hilarious statement but if you deeply notice, this scene reflects the mindset of society. There’s a scene in the movie where Ayushman openly talks about homophobia, this reflects that the society is actually suffering from a disease called homophobia where they cannot accept the same-sex couple.

A scene in the movie where the pornography industry is blamed for homosexuality is another scene that reflects the mindset of the society. There’s also a scene in the movie where Jitendra Kumar is introduced to a girl by his parents so that he can marry as per the norms set up by society. But when you watch the movie you can feel the awkwardness he felt with a girl and a sense of comfort he felt with a guy.

Location

In Varanasi, UP Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan was shot. The actor has started loving the state and enjoys UP food, local culture and music. In Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan, Ayushmann will be seen playing a homosexual on the big screen as the film’s plot revolves around a gay love story. Director effectively displayed the beauty of the city. All the characters caught the assent perfectly and delivered it clearly. All the specifications of Varanasi temple, Ghats, narrow lanes, etc displayed. The other locations of the movie also shot nicely.

Genre

The genre of this movie is again comedy, drama, and messages like Ayushman’s favorite parcel. Writers worked hard to make new punches never seen before but the quality matches the Tik-Tok only. Movie no doubt produces a laugh pain in your belly with some dense seen.

Acting and Direction

Surprisingly, Jeetu Bhaiya acted as a professional actor and competed with Ayushman very hard. It is very hard to find out mistakes and weak points in the acting of these actors and actresses. Neena Gupta acted typically but suited theirs.

Final Verdict

It’s a dare to present this movie on the screen. They did it. This movie gives a huge and sensitive message to society. This movie not only focuses on men but also women. Women who are romantically or sexually attracted to other women can be called gay as well. But is usually called lesbians. For accepting any taboo, a person must have a broad mind, then only he/she can withstand society.
